SiftDNS Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SiftDNS services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our services.

2. Description of Service

SiftDNS provides Domain Name System (DNS) resolution services with ad-blocking, malware protection, and privacy features. Our service blocks over 350,000 domains containing advertisements, trackers, malware, and other unwanted content.

Service Features:

• DNS resolution with comprehensive domain filtering
• Zero-logging DNS queries
• Direct root server queries for maximum privacy
• Global DNS infrastructure
• 30-day free trial for new customers

Service Access:

• DNS servers are publicly accessible once you have an active subscription
• No account login or authentication required to use DNS servers
• Service availability is tied to your Stripe subscription status
• DNS server IP addresses are provided after successful subscription
• Subscribers will be notified via email if DNS server IPs need updating

3. Payment and Subscription Management

3.1 Stripe Integration

• All payment processing and customer account management is handled by Stripe
• You create and manage your subscription directly through Stripe's system
• SiftDNS receives only subscription status notifications (active/cancelled)
• Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy govern the payment relationship

3.2 Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use SiftDNS
• You must have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements
• Use of our service must comply with all applicable laws and regulations

4. Subscription Plans and Payment

4.1 Subscription Plans

• Individual Plan: $3.00 per month for personal use
• Business Plan: $10.00 per month for commercial use
• All new subscriptions include a 30-day free trial

4.2 Payment Terms

• Subscription fees are billed monthly in advance
• Payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc.
• All fees are non-refundable except as required by law or expressly stated in these Terms
• Prices may change with 30 days advance notice

4.3 Free Trial

• New customers receive a 30-day free trial
• No payment is required during the trial period
• Billing begins automatically after the trial period unless cancelled
• You may cancel at any time during the trial without charge

4.4 Subscription Management

• Subscriptions are managed entirely through Stripe
• You may cancel your subscription at any time through Stripe's customer portal
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• SiftDNS does not have direct access to modify your subscription

5. Acceptable Use Policy

5.1 Permitted Uses

You may use SiftDNS for lawful DNS resolution purposes, including:

• Blocking unwanted advertisements and trackers
• Protecting against malware and phishing sites
• Improving browsing privacy and security

5.2 Prohibited Uses

You may not:

• Use the service for any illegal activities
• Attempt to circumvent or disable service filtering mechanisms
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
• Use the service to harm others or violate their rights
• Resell or redistribute access to SiftDNS without written permission
• Use automated tools to abuse or overload our infrastructure
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems

6. Service Availability and Performance

6.1 Service Level

• We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime for our DNS services
• Planned maintenance will be announced in advance when possible
• DNS server IP addresses may occasionally change for service improvements, security updates, or infrastructure maintenance
• Subscribers will be notified in advance of any required IP address updates
• We are not liable for service interruptions due to circumstances beyond our control

6.2 No Warranties

• Services are provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
• We do not warrant that our service will meet all your requirements

7. Privacy and Data Protection

7.1 Zero Logging Policy

• SiftDNS does not log, store, or monitor DNS queries
• We do not track websites you visit or maintain browsing histories
• Network traffic flow is monitored for performance and security purposes only

7.2 Minimal Data Collection

• SiftDNS collects no customer account or billing information directly
• All customer data is managed by Stripe according to their privacy policies
• We may retain support communications only when you contact us directly

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 SiftDNS Rights

• SiftDNS and all related trademarks, logos, and content are our property
• Our DNS filtering lists and technology are proprietary and protected

8.2 User Rights

• You retain all rights to any content you transmit through our service
• You grant us no rights to your data beyond what's necessary to provide the service

9. Limitation of Liability

9.1 Liability Limits

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
• We are not responsible for data loss, business interruption, or loss of profits

9.2 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold SiftDNS harmless from any claims arising from your use of the service or violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

10.1 Termination by You

• You may cancel your subscription at any time through Stripe's customer portal
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• You remain responsible for all charges incurred prior to cancellation

10.2 Service Suspension by SiftDNS

We may suspend access to our DNS servers if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Engage in abusive behavior toward our infrastructure
• Use the service for illegal activities
• Note: We cannot directly cancel Stripe subscriptions - you must cancel through Stripe

10.3 Effect of Termination

• Upon cancellation, your access to SiftDNS servers will cease
• No refunds will be provided except as required by law or Stripe's policies
• Provisions regarding liability and dispute resolution survive termination

11. Modifications to Terms

• We may update these Terms from time to time
• Changes will be posted on our website with an updated effective date
• Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance
• Material changes will be communicated via email when possible

12. Dispute Resolution

12.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [YOUR JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict of law principles.

12.2 Arbitration

13.3 No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
